The traditional site of the incident is Mount Hermon. Jesus has taken disciples Peter, James and John on to the mountain to pray. They have gone to sleep, and they awaken to find Jesus speaking to Moses and Elijah, arisen from the dead, about his crucifixion in Jerusalem. Jesus' clothes are bright like lightning, his face shining. The disciples are afraid, and Peter, not knowing what to say, suggests putting up tents for them all!
